Circulation Services

Circulation Services is the first contact point for library users, which assists them in locating and circulating library materials. The service counters are located on every floor in the Library. Library staff at the service counters are ready to answer enquiries and provide professional services.

For convenience, self-check machines are available on 1/F and 2/F. For the first time user, you will need to change the password through “My Library Account” before using the self-check machines. You are encouraged to borrow and return library materials by using the time-saving devices. The Library Services Counters can also be reached at (852) 3963-5310 or library@hsu.edu.hk.

Upon recall, the loan period for the checked out item will be shortened to 14 days from the date of recall. All books of Circulation Collection are subject to recall. You may refer to the Library Regulations 3.7 to obtain more information.

Reservation

You can reserve a loan item in the Circulation Collection and Multimedia Collection online.

Borrowers can reserve items that are currently checked out by other users from the Circulation Collection and Multimedia Collection according to the respective Loan Privileges.

Fines

Fines will be charged for late return items. Fine rate is based on the information stated in the Library Regulations 3.9.

Overdue notices will be sent to your campus email accounts. Non-receipt of the overdue notices will not be accepted as an excuse for waiving or reducing the overdue fines.
