It is difficult to truly understand and interpret the thoughts of Confucius and Mencius in our modern life. What are the purposes of reading these classics? The library, in collaboration with the Department of Chinese, will organize a sharing session on a new book that discusses interpretations of the thoughts of Confucius and Mencius. During the session, Professor Poon will introduce how works from the Han Dynasty and Six Dynasties period interpreted Confucius, Mencius, and their disciples differently, and how their teachings can be applied to modern life.
