This October, the Library, Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL), and Information Technology Services Centre (ITSC) join forces to bring you AI Awareness Week 2026, running 5–9 October, under the University AI Initiative – AI Hub@HSU.
This year’s theme, “Beyond Literacy. Toward Fluency.”, goes beyond knowing what AI is. It is about evaluating AI critically, adapting it to unfamiliar situations, and knowing when not to use it — skills that matter well beyond any tool or course.
What is happening:
- Six hands-on workshops, all held in the eLearning Classroom, 1/F, HSUHK Library: covering Gemini, Copilot, AI-generated multimedia, AI-assisted coding, Gemini Notebook, and AI research tools for literature navigation.
- Foundations of AI in Teaching and Learning — a newly launched, self-paced, six-module online course aligned with the UNESCO AI Competency Framework. (login with your HSUHK M365 account, click Categories > CTL > CTL1002)
- Undergraduate students can earn 1 iGPS for attending each workshop, and a further 1 iGPS for completing the online course and obtaining its certificate between 5–31 October 2026.
- Daily AI tips and perspectives from Voices across HSUHK, shared throughout the Week via eConnect News.
