The Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) is a web-based data management system that allows faculty, students, and postgraduates to access information from a wide variety of financial, economic and marketing data sources.

 

The Library has subscribed the following data sets:

 

COMPUSTAT includes annual and quarterly Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows, and supplemental data items on more than 7,500 publicly held companies.

 

CRSP (The Center for Research in Security Prices) maintains the most comprehensive collection of security price, return, and volume data for the NYSE, AMEX and NASDAQ stock markets.

 

I/B/E/S (The Institutional Brokers Estimate System) provides a global summary and individual forecast information as well as buy-sell-hold recommendations for companies globally, plus cash flow, dividend, and pre-tax profit forecasts.

DIY Borrowing and Returning

Time to speed up borrowing and returning process! Try the self-check machines located at 1/F and 2/F of the Library. They provide a convenient and straightforward way for you to check out up to 3 items at one go.

 

Don’t know how to use the machines? Watch a 2-minutes video and you will know the whole process. You may come to our service counters if you encounter any difficulties.

 

Winners of the Database Weeks Quiz

The Library organised Database Weeks Exhibition and Quiz in the last two weeks, and it ended successfully.

 

Please give a big hand to our Database Weeks quiz winner SING Chun Kwan, first runner-up SETO Tin Chun, and second runner up LEE Ming Kai. Congratulations to them!

 

All winners will be notified via email to collect the prize in person. Thank you everyone who supported the event.

 

Database on Free Trial

E-Resources
(February 2017/Issue 82)
To support English learning, the Library has currently set up a trial on the following database: Cambridge Companions Online.

Cambridge Companions Online are collections of topics in Literature, Philosophy, Religion, History, Music and Culture with scholarly overviews on the main authors, artists, philosophers and composers.

The database includes three sub-collections. Among them, the Cambridge Companions in “Literature & Classics” sub-collection is particularly relevant to your English studies.
