To support your study and research, the Library is delighted to introduce the following new e-resources:

Humanities Source Ultimate (via EBSCO) covers all key fields of the humanities. The database features articles, interviews, bibliographies, original works of fiction and book reviews and more.

Hong Kong TV and Film Publication Database collects TV and film publications published in Hong Kong from the 1940s to 1990s, including TVB Weekly, TV brochures, special issues, complimentary issues, and movie pamphlets.

Newly Acquired E-Resources

To support the rapid development of the programmes in the University, the Library has been continuously enriching its collection in terms of breadth and depth. We are pleased to announce the availability of the following new databases:

  • SAGE Research Methods contains SAGE books, journal articles, reference works, and instructional videos for helping users with research projects.

  • Handbook of Translation Studies Online provides a large range of reference work on traditions and methods of translation and interpreting.
  •  

  • Environmental Research Database (ESG) covers environmental performance and investment of listed companies in China available on the CSMAR platform.
  •  

  • SpringerLink covers a wide range of subjects including business & management, computer science, economics & finance, mathematics & statistics, language & linguistics, professional & applied computing and social sciences.
  •  

  • Brill contains ebooks on social sciences, Asian studies, language and linguistics.
  •  

  • John Benjamins contains ebooks on linguistics, literature and literary studies, translation and interpreting studies.

How to Get Published in Open Access (OA) Journals

Thinking of publishing your next article with open access?

The key benefits of publishing OA are visibility and impact. Greater visibility can result in increased readership and citations of your research. Academic publishers like Taylor & Francis (T&F) offer a range of options to support OA.

While preparing for publishing articles in OA journals, researchers can review OA Publishing Guide to understand the OA options and use the Open Access Cost Finder to check the Article Publishing Charge (APC) across all relevant journals as reference.

Library Orientation for New Students

Welcome new students!

Start your successful learning journey by joining Library Orientation. Familiarizing yourselves with Library resources and learning the ways to make good use of them are crucial to academic success. During the Orientation session, librarians will introduce to you information about collections, services and facilities of the Library which are all fundamental for your smooth transition to the new mode of study as a university student.

  • Date: 8-10 Sep 2021 (Year One entrants), 13-14 Sep 2021 (Senior Year entrants)
  • Time: 11 am-12 pm, 3 pm-4 pm
  • Venue: E-Learning Classroom (A114, 1/F of the Library)
  • An iGPS unit will be offered.
