IMPORTANT NOTICE – Library Fines on Overdue of Library Materials: A Reminder

(August 2016/Issue 70)
This is a reminder on the changes of Library Regulations that affect the charges on Library overdue fines for Library materials. The Regulations were endorsed in the Library and Learning Resources Committee (LLRC) meeting on 12 May 2016 and the notice was posted on the Forum of eCampus on 18 May 2016.

Change of processing fee and replacement cost
(Library Regulations 3.10.1, 3.10.4 and 3.10.7)

The processing fee for loss, assumed loss and damaged Library materials has changed from HK$30 to HK$50. In addition, the full cost of the item to be replaced will be charged for loss, assumed loss and damaged items.

Change of maximum fines for overdue Library materials
(Library Regulations 3.9.1, 3.10.3 and 3.10.7)

Effective from 1 September 2016, the maximum fines for overdue Library materials will change from HK$30 to HK$100 per item. The revised charges also apply to late return of Reader’s Cards and Borrowing Cards of other libraries.
