As a library user of HSMC, you can access and read over 430,000 E-Books through E-Books mobile apps and platforms anytime anywhere. Bring a mobile device and drop by our “Mobile Reading On-the-Go” booth, our Librarians will be here to provide step-by-step guidance to get your mobile reading ready. Details are as below:

Get Prepared for 2017/18 Exchange Study – Chance to Broaden Your Horizon

24/7 @ Library 24 Hours Study Area (28 Nov 2016 – 23 Dec 2016)

To facilitate students’ study and preparation for examination, the Library will operate the 24 Hours Study Area to provide 24/7 access to the G/F of the Library during the following period:

 

28 November 2016 (Mon 8:30 am) – 23 December 2016 (Fri 7:00 pm)

To ensure safety, the Area is safeguarded by Security Guard. Library users are required to have valid student ID cards in order to access to the Area. Please tap your valid student card to the card reader next to the side door (G/F of the Library) to enter the Area.

New Android Devices for Searching Library Resources on 1/F

(November 2016/Issue 76)
In order to bring convenience and enhance your search experience, a new touch-screen Android device is now available on the 1/F of the Library. Together with the existing searching devices on other floors of the Library, you can check and access to a wide range of library resources through SearchPlus more efficiently and effectively. Come to the Library and check it out!

 

Winners of the Cambridge Knowledge Quiz

(October 2016/Issue 75)
To encourage the use of E-resources, the Library organized an online quiz with Cambridge University Press and it ended successfully.
A Year-4 student from School of Translation, Chung Hau Ming, was the 1st prize winner of a Star Wars BB8 Sphero (See below photo). 3 students also won $120 Starbucks card in the challenge. Congratulations!

Special Features! Teaching Notes are Available in a New Trial Database of “Emerald Emerging Markets Case Studies”

The Library has set up a trial access for “Emerald Emerging Markets Case Studies”. It is a collection of peer-reviewed case studies focusing on business decision making and management development throughout key global emerging markets. The collection contains more than 430 cases and each case is accompanied with teaching notes from the authors.
