Library Book Fair

To foster a reading culture in the College community and provide reading atmosphere on Campus, the Library will be holding a Book Fair during 16 – 18 Oct 2013. It will be a good opportunity for book-loving faculty members and students to find good reads on campus.
Date: 16 – 18 Oct 2013 (Wed – Fri)
Time: 10: 00 a.m. – 6: 00 p.m.
Venue: G/F, Block A (near Main Entrance)
Bookstore: Commercial Press

HSMC Mobile Library is Ready

No more pinch and drag the screen on your smart phones! The mobile version of HSMC Library website is available on the same domain when you visit https://library.hsu.edu.hk.

In September, the Library has set up the configuration to allow the Library website switching from desktop to mobile mode to fit in the browser. From now on, you can easily access library information and services in the palm of your hand.

Exhibition on Wu Zhi Qiao (無止橋)

(Sept 2013/Issue 16)

The exhibition provides an excellent opportunity for students and colleagues to learn more about Wu Zhi Qiao, a Bridge to China Charitable Foundation. It aims to encourage volunteers, especially student volunteers from Hong Kong to join force with this meaningful foundation through social service learning-based projects, by building foot bridges and village facilities for underprivileged villages in remote areas of Mainland China.

Exhibition organized by HSMC Library & Student Affairs Office.

Group Viewing Room

Located on the 2/F, the Group Viewing Room is available for viewing the Library’s media resources. The room is equipped with 50″ LED TV, Blu-ray disc player (compatible with DVD, VCD and Audio CD) and comfortable sofa.

Start your learning with peers and friends via booking at Campus Room Booking System.

Media Carrel

You may also view the media on your own at the media carrel outside the Group Viewing Room. It is equipped with 24″ LED TV, Blu-ray disc player and headset. No reservation is needed.

 

 

Computer Clusters

More PCs equipped with full suites of software are available on the 1/F for self-studying, e-learning and researching.

Happy Birthday to HSMC Library

Do you know that the Library is celebrating its First Birthday today?

The Library moved to its current location in Block A on 12 Sept 2012. The small team of library staff had to help to move over 30,000 volumes of books and multimedia items to its new home. Five days later on 17 Sept 2012, the Library opened its doors to the College for the first time.
