Library Book Donations

(September 2014/Issue 33)

The Library has been the fortunate recipient of valuable collections of gift items from many well-wishers. Two notable collections are highlighted here:

Donations from Professor Alex Cheung Kwong Yue

Comprising over 2,000 volumes of scholarly books and journals in a wide selection of subjects, including Chinese language & literature, history, art, philosophy and archeology, these books provide a wealth of resources for Chinese studies. Currently most of Professor Cheung’s books are held in the Special Collections Room while some are in the Circulation Collection.

Donations from William Ip Wai Kwok

Another valuable collection of materials is from William Ip Wai Kwok, faculty member of the Department of Translation. Among the donated books are many unique items, including some very specialized dictionaries. These books have no doubt enriched the Library’s collection of materials in translation studies.
