· Mnemonic, an Exhibition of drawings by Professor Alexander S. W. Law, is now on view at the Library.

The Exhibition showcases the mnemonics of Professor Law in visual forms. The sketches range from city skylines, scenic points all over the world and more that are meaningful to Professor Law. Come to feel the heart-warming moments through the drawings and be associated with the artist’s precious memories.

Good Sharing of AAD Public Lecture – Architecture, Culture and Language

It was an honor to have Professor Alexander Law as the speaker of Public Lecture Series: Architecture, Culture and Language organized by the Department of Art and Design on 13 April 2022. Professor Law talked about architecture as a form of non-verbal expression of cultures, together with the interaction among architecture, culture, language and art. Both as an architect and an artist, Professor Law also illustrated in detail what a building represented over time and space and how important town planning was.

Be a Director to Make Your Appealing Video

Interested in producing a short video to engage the audience at first glance? If so, the workshop Making a Creative Short Video is here for you. In partnership with Wu Jieh Yee Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (WUCIE), the Library prepares a brand new workshop to sharpen your video producing skills.

Illustrated with practical examples, the workshop enables participants to understand the fundamentals of video production and acquire essential skills in turning interesting ideas into well-constructed pitching videos. The workshop will also cover the use of video-taking equipment and video-editing softwares available at Media Creative Space in the Library.

This workshop is suitable for all students, especially those planning to have start-ups. Join with details as follows:

Read Together with Library Student Ambassadors

This is the first-of-its-kind reading club to be formed by Library Student Ambassadors for thought-provoking and friendship-building with book lovers.

Animal Farm《動物農莊》, the famous literary work written by George Orwell, is chosen to be read in a group. This classic novel is full of animal characters that depict historical Russian political figures. It was first published in 1945 with the theme that feels as relevant today as ever.

Revisit the SHSS Lecture Online

Organized by the School of Humanities and Social Science, the Lecture Man and Nature Interface: Architecture and the Eleven Dimensions was successfully held in the Library with online broadcast on 24 February 2022. Thanks to Professor Alexander Law’s sharing, participants of the Lecture have gained a deeper understanding on the relationship among architecture, nature and humans.
