Please note that during the summer break from 1 Jun (Sat) to 17 Aug (Sat), both dates inclusive, theLibrary Opening Hours will be as follows:

24/7 @ 24 Hours Study Area (6 – 25 May 2013)

To facilitate students’ study and preparation for examination, the Library operates the 24 Hours Study Area to provide 24/7 access (i.e. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week) on the G/F of the Library during the following period:

6 May, 2013 (Mon, 8:30 am) – 25 May, 2013 (Sat, 7:30 am)

To ensure safety, the Area is safeguarded by the Security Guard. Library users are required to have valid student/staff ID cards in order to access to the Area. Please tab your valid student/staff ID cards to the card reader next to the side door.

SearchPlus goes Mobile

SearchPlus goes Mobile

HSMC Library is pleased to bring you SearchPlus goes Mobile. It is the mobile version of SearchPlus, which is the one-stop search interface for the discovery and delivery of a wide variety of Libraryresources, on your smartphones or other mobile devices. Now, you can search Library resources in the palm of your hand anywhere around the clock.

 

 You can get the followings in the palm of your hand:

  • Check the status and location of any item in ourLibrary’s collection;
  • Search for books, articles , journals and more at one go;
  • Check your current loan, renew and place hold on items;
  • Read full-text journal articles from selected databases.
    (For remote access, you are required to set up VPN on your mobile);
  • Save your search result at e-shelf.

HKUST Library Card Service

HKUST Library Card Service

To support academic and research needs, the HKUST Library Card is now available for full time academic staff to borrow.

What can you do with the card?

●Check out up to 25 books (including 4 weeks loan and & 7 days reserve) at one time.
●Use library resources including printed collection and some electronic resources (remote access is NOT allowed).
●Use facilities and reference services inside the library.

Please be reminded that HSMC Library also has Reader’s Cards from Chinese University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Shue Yan University. It gives access to these two academic libraries to use library resources, reference service and facilities inside the libraries.

You are welcome to borrow the card at the Library Services Desk on G/F.

New Platform : Launch of SearchPlus

(Jan 2013/Issue 3)

The Library’s new search engine – SearchPlus goes live.

From now on you no longer need to search the Library collections and electronic resources in two separate platforms, SearchPlus allows you to search across a wide range of Library resources including books, journals, audio-visual materials, Library’s subscribed e-journals, e-books and more in a single search box.

Try it out and enjoy your exploration of SearchPlus.
