LIB101: a Tool to Help Develop Information Skills of Your Students

Market Research Resources Workshop for BUS4008 Global Marketing

Jointly delivered by faculty staff and librarian, the information skills workshop ‘Market Research Resources in the Library and Beyond’ was presented to a class of marketing students on 24 June 2020. As part of a teaching session, content of the workshop had been specially designed to support the needs of BUS4008 Global Marketing.

Students speedily picked up skills of using subject related databases and resources after engaging in hands-on practice of the various online platforms during the session!

How to seek truth in the era of fake news?

Jointly organized by the Library and Mr Brian So from the School of Communication, the online workshop ‘Why can’t you just GOOGLE it? Exploring and Making Use of News Resources in the Library Collection and Beyond‘ was delivered to students from SCOM on 26 March 2020.

Students had been trained to develop skills to find creditable news resources, evaluate and select trustworthy news sources during the session. They have also learned many quick tips for information searching through these interesting exercises!
