An Exhibition of Watercolour Sketches by Professor Desmond Hui – in Celebration of the Establishment of the Department of Art and Design at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong

慶祝香港恒生大學成立藝術設計系 – 許焯權教授水彩畫速寫展覽

 

The exhibition will showcase two collections of sketches of appealing landscapes and beauty perception crystallized through watercolours by Professor Desmond Hui (Head of Department of Art and Design).

Online Exhibition will be available from 16 July 2020, 5:30 pm.

《北韓一百問》@Library Summer Reading Club

It seems that North Korea is always getting ready to start a war. The country is holding a nuclear sword and continuously threatening to lash out at other nations anytime.

Life in the world’s most secretive state is full of baffling facts. If you want to unlock the mysteries of North Korea, come to join our Summer Reading Club. The Library will organize two reading sessions of the book 《北韓一百問》which contains 100 questions with answers about the secrets of the country. Details are as follows:

  • Date: 31 Jul 2020 (Fri) and 7 Aug 2020 (Fri)
  • Time: 12:30 – 1:15 pm
  • Venue: G/F of the Library
  • Target Audience: HSUHK Staff

You will receive a welcome pack with a copy of the book. A brown bag lunch will be provided as well. Come and join us.

Market Research Resources Workshop for BUS4008 Global Marketing

Jointly delivered by faculty staff and librarian, the information skills workshop ‘Market Research Resources in the Library and Beyond’ was presented to a class of marketing students on 24 June 2020. As part of a teaching session, content of the workshop had been specially designed to support the needs of BUS4008 Global Marketing.

Students speedily picked up skills of using subject related databases and resources after engaging in hands-on practice of the various online platforms during the session!

Faculty members are most welcome to contact our Learning Support Librarians to develop tailor-made information skills workshops for students of different programmes.

Cantonese is a language with a long history. It is widely used by people in Hong Kong, Macao, the Guangdong Province, as well as parts of Guangxi and Hainan.

However, as time goes by, many phrases that were once popular have gradually become unknown to young people. Various interesting stories behind different expressions are rather difficult to trace nowadays.

Wanna Win the HSUHK X SCMP Entrepreneurship Challenge 2020?

Collaborated with the Wu Jieh Yee Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the Library creates an Entrepreneurship Guide that contains useful resources for students to get ready for the HSUHK X SCMP Entrepreneurship Challenge 2020.

The Guide helps students to discover creditable resources for writing business plans and proposals, as well as making good use of information tools to start a new business.

To gear up for the campaign, make sure you have read this useful guide.
