Art and Design Public Lecture
A public lecture, Chinese Painting Scroll ‧ Feitian – Revelation from Dunhuang Murals, is organized by the Department of Art and Design (AAD) at Space for All in the Library.
Ms Jor Yin Fun, Director of White Box Studio and Secretary of White Box Friends, will be the speaker of the Lecture. Ms Jor will share her road of discovery to the art of corn husks and the stories behind shaping numerous figurines in Chinese and foreign style with the material. Her pioneer use of corn husk in modelling Dunhuang Feitian in 2019 will be highlighted as well.
All students and staff are most welcome to join the Lecture. Details are as follows:

Chinese Painting Scroll ‧ Feitian
The Solo Exhibition by Jor Yin Fun on Chinese Painting Scroll ‧ Feitian – Revelation from Dunhuang Murals will be organized by the Department of Art and Design. Ms Jor was inspired by the Dunhuang Murals during her visit at the site in 2019 and she has drawn the medium from daily life – the corn husk for creation. Being the pioneer in using corn husk to make artwork, Ms Jor also spreads a message of environment conservation by adopting sustainable materials to share her artistic sense. Let’s appreciate the marvellous works and realize the creativity from ordinary materials.

China Statistical Yearbooks Database 中國經濟社會大數據研究平台 via CNKI 中國知網(formerly named as China Statistical Yearbooks Database 中國統計年鍳數據庫) contains census and survey data from statistical yearbooks in different provinces and cities in China. It is currently available for complimentary access throughout 2022.
Man and Nature Interface: Architecture and the Eleven Dimensions
Architecture is not only concerned about how a structure is built. The main focus of architecture is people. It carries a humanistic perspective to create a better environment for people. What will the architects consider when constructing a project? Professor Alexander Law, who is a registered architect, an art connoisseur and a business leader, will deliver a lecture on eleven dimensions of man’s view of nature and the interaction between the two in shaping the space.
