Access Resources beyond HSMC Library for Final Year Degree Students

Good news for final year degree students
The Library is pleased to announce thatall final year degree students are eligible to borrow the Reader’s Cards of CUHK and Hong Kong Shue Yan University Libraries, upon presenting of valid HSMC student cards.

The reader’s cards allow students to access to the CUHK and Shue Yan University Libraries, use their library resources including printed and some electronic resources, as well as facilities and reference services in the Libraries.

Library Book Fair

To foster a reading culture in the College community and provide reading atmosphere on Campus, the Library will be holding a Book Fair during 3 – 5 March 2014. It will be a good opportunity for book-loving faculty members and students to find good reads on campus.

What makes a successful CV? Presented by Careers Office of Student Affairs, the exhibition intends to advise on writing a well presented professional CV. Details are as follows:

CFA & CPA Collections

CFA & CPA Collections

Two new collections have been established to provide a dedicated location for learning resources related to two professional examinations, namely CFA and CPA.

CFA Collection

This collection consists of books issued by the CFA Institute. Some items in this collection are also available in electronic format. In addition, a few supplementary publications for helping candidates to sit the CFA examination are also kept there. You are advised to check them in SearchPlus.

CPA Collection

This collection comprises learning resources issued by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants for its CPA Qualification Program. A set of the latest editions is kept in the Collection.

 

The collections are located on the 1/F of the Library, adjacent to the Group Discussion Rooms A109-110. All items in these collections are available for loan as Circulation Collection.

To help you find and use e-books with ease, there is now an E-Books page linking you directly to individual e-book platform. Included here is a comprehensive list of all the e-book collections available from the different databases such as EBSCOhost eBook Collection, Books 24×7, Airiti Books, Sage Knowledge, Taylor & Francis eBooks, EBL, etc. Descriptions of each collection and user guides for each platform are also provided.

You may also search e-books across e-book databases with SearchPlus at one go.
