Library Book Fair

To foster a reading culture in the College community and provide reading atmosphere on Campus, the Library will be holding a Book Fair during 3 – 5 March 2014. It will be a good opportunity for book-loving faculty members and students to find good reads on campus.

Time: 10: 00 a.m. – 5: 00 p.m.
Venue: G/F, Block A (near Main Entrance)
Bookstore: Cite Bookshop (城邦書店)

Exhibition – Love around the World

Ever wonder what other cultures think about love? Come and visit our themed exhibition, “Love around the World” at the Library.

Presented by the Student Affairs Office, produced by exchange students, the exhibition provides snapshots of how love is celebrated by different cultures around the world by introducing Valentine’s Day and other related festivals. Details are as follows:

Exhibition – Bamboo for the 21st Century

As a green material, bamboo plays an important part in reducing many adverse effects on the environment and human health. To promote environmental protection, HSMC has used bamboo in its internal design of new buildings and as a material for furniture items. Do you know why bamboo is environmental friendly and what benefits it can bring to Mother Earth?

Come to find out answers from the Library’s Green Exhibition themed “Bamboo for the 21st Century” and enter a quiz for lucky draw on or before 27 November! Prizes will be given out by Mr. Martin Tam when he comes to give a talk on bamboo on 28 November 2013. Below are the details of the Exhibition and the Talk:

竹子與廿一世紀

竹是綠色環保材料,在減少對環境污染和促進人類健康方面起了重大的作用。為了倡導環保,恒生管理學院在新建成的教學行政樓、康樂活動中心等大樓內,採用竹作為內部設計建築材料和辦公室傢具。究竟竹子如何維護生態和對地球環境作出貢獻呢?欲知答案,請參與恒生管理學院圖書館舉辦的綠色展覽 – 「竹子與廿一世紀」 – 及圖書館的綠色講座 – 「廿一世紀環保『竹』覺」。
展覽期間,圖書館還舉辦「竹子問答遊戲大抽獎」鼓勵大家參與。恒管圖書館有幸地邀得譚天放先生,主講有關竹的特性和竹如何維護生態環境,在講座期間我們將邀請譚先生主持竹子問答遊戲抽獎及頒獎。愛環保的你請一同參與。圖書館竹子展覽暨講座詳情如下:

Exhibition on Wu Zhi Qiao (無止橋)

(Sept 2013/Issue 16)

The exhibition provides an excellent opportunity for students and colleagues to learn more about Wu Zhi Qiao, a Bridge to China Charitable Foundation. It aims to encourage volunteers, especially student volunteers from Hong Kong to join force with this meaningful foundation through social service learning-based projects, by building foot bridges and village facilities for underprivileged villages in remote areas of Mainland China.
