Congratulation to “Between the Lines”!

Congratulation to “Between the Lines”! The committee has won the “President’s Commendation Award: Arts and Culture”. The HSUHK Scholarship and Award Presentation Ceremony was held on 14 March 2019.

 

Thanks for all that “Between the Lines” has done. Even the mighty oak starts as a small acorn. The Library will continue to support “Between the Lines” and grow a wholesome culture of reading and writing on our HSUHK campus.

Library Book Fair (Semester 2, AY 2018-19)

The Library is going to hold the second Book Fair with Luck Win Bookstore (樂文書店) from 20 – 22 March. During these three days, you can come and look for any good books to read. What’s more, all the books are up to 30% off! Come by and get the house of gold in books!

Recap on Award Ceremony of Chinese Calligraphy Competition(毛筆書法比賽頒獎典禮)

Organized by the Department of Chinese and the Library, the Award Ceremony of Chinese Calligraphy Competition was successfully held on 26 February 2019. We were honored to invite Prof Simon Ho and Prof. Alex Cheung as the award presenters. They were delighted to see many students and staff showing their talent and creativity on the Chinese New Year couplets. Surrounded by applause, the Ceremony came to an end with full of joy and happiness. Once again, congratulation to all awardees!

 

The Exhibition on 【博雅.恒大】毛筆書法比賽頒獎典禮 will be held until March 1 (Fri).

Reading Club in March: 《思香‧世代》

Look how fast Hong Kong is changing, how time flies. A new group of Library Reading Club is coming in March. Facilitated by Ms Catherine Chan from Department of Chinese, we will follow the footsteps of Xiaosi(小思) in 《思香‧世代》to relive the human landscape of Hong Kong in the 1960s and 70s. Xiaosi is a contemporary Hong Kong essayist, educator, and scholar. She also has been an eminent researcher of Hong Kong literature for decades.

Exhibition on 【博雅.恒大】毛筆揮春創作比賽得獎作品展

Chinese New Year couplets are the most common and important custom when celebrating Chinese New Year. With black characters written on red coloured strips, it expresses people’s delight in the festival and wishes for the coming new year.

 

【博雅.恒大】毛筆揮春創作比賽 was held by Department of Chinese. It aims to engage our University communities to celebrate Chinese New Year together. The competition came to an end with full of joy and happiness. The Library will collaborate with Department of Chinese to showcase the best and the most creative Chinese New Year couplets from our students and staff.

 

The exhibition will be held at the G/F of Library from February 18 – March 1. Don’t miss it!
