Feng Menglong and Ming Short Stories: A Comparative Approach

‘Feng Menglong and Ming Short Stories: A Comparative Approach’ is a seminar of the Contemporary Greater China Series organized by the Center for Greater China Studies and the Department of English in the Library.

Prof Jeremy Tambling, speaker of the Seminar, is a recognized writer and critic who has engaged in literary teaching and research for many years. He will give an advanced introduction to the short stories written by the literary giant Feng Menglong from a comparative position, aligning them with the Shakespeare in which they are parallel.

All students and staff are most welcome to join the Seminar. Details are as follows:

Cultural Landscapes of Local Communities in Asia

Connect and build local communities in Asia without boundaries – is the theme of an exciting project of student groups of the BSS (Hons) of Asian Studies programme.

Amid the Covid-19 epidemic, two groups of Asian Studies students found ways to get exposed to diverse communities and cultures of Asia. One of them surveyed the ethnic foodscape of To Kwa Wan and the other group worked with international students of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University to explore the rural communities and traditional knowledge of Japan.
