New Books Highlights

The Library’s New Book Display gives you first hand access to the latest print titles received at the Library. Now on display include two new publications by faculties, the Wandering Mind and Metaphysical Thoughts by Gao Xingjian and translated by Professor Gilbert Fong, and 真.君子商贏之道 which was recently featured in our Book Talk event.

Subject Highlight – Actuarial Studies and Insurance

You can access your programme’s resources at anytime and anywhere.The Library has subscribed to an eBook subject collection in Mathematics & Statistics from Wiley for the programme Actuarial Studies and Insurance recently.

Tips on searching these eBooks:

Go to the Library website, click Databases A-Z list, select Wiley Online Library then type in keyword actuarial or insurance in the search box, over 13,000 related books are available for your study and learning.

You may also find other different types of resources relevant to this programme such as e-journals, reference works and multi-media through the Subject Guides.

New Release of Ancient Enmity

Ancient Enmity was published in November 2017 echoing International Poetry Nights in Hong Kong (IPNHK). This treasured contemporary poetry anthology presents the works of over 20 poets from all over the world. You will also find their works presented in different languages, thanks to the effort of many renowned translators, including Prof Gilbert Fong and Dr Shelby Chan from HSMC. There are 24 pocket-sized paperbacks in a set. Borrow one and enjoy it wherever you go.

Food Culture@Good Read Corner

Have you ever thought about food can be related to economic development? Food also is a reflection of your cultures, habits or styles. Wanna know more about food culture and how others see “Food” in their lives? Now selected books on “Food Culture” are displayed on 1/F of the Library, with new articles featuring some Good Reads for your leisure reading written by the faculty members from Department of Chinese. Prepare for IELTS at the Library

Are you taking the IELTS test soon?

Be as prepared as possible for your test by practising at the Library. The best way to fight for the exam is to practise, practise, and practise! We have lots of books and CDs to help you with your IELTS exam. The Library also has tests from previous years and useful vocabulary lists to boost your study.
