Factiva – A Premier Business Resource

Factiva, provided by Dow Jones, has a broad collection of sources from 200 countries in 26 languages, including business magazines, trade journals, newspapers, newswires, media programs, blogs, podcasts and company stock reports. Information, such as current stock quote, financial data, and competitors, on both public and private companies is available.


The Library has set up the Group Pages under News Pages menu as a newsstand for selected newspapers such as the Asia Wall Street Journal, South China Morning Post, 明報, 信報, 星島日報 and 香港經濟日報. This is a quick way to browse current issues across newspapers.

New Encyclopedias Arrived!

The Library has subscribed to a new resource Alexander Street Press – Business & Economics. This online resource combines video, audio and text with cutting-edge online tools to provide extensive and quality business content. The cross-searchable interface for 4 collections, namely Business E-Books OnlineBusiness Education in VideoHuman Resource Management Online and International Business Online, is powerful yet easy to use.


This updated interface offers users exciting new features such as synchronous transcript, semantic facet browsing, playlist-building functionality, clip creation, mobile sharing, multi-language user interface, as well as the ability to export citations in various formats. Making a clip has never been easier. It is just a few clicks. Translation options for transcripts, bibliographic details are available every page. Videos can be embedded in LMS like Moodle. “Send to mobile” function allows you to share a video with anyone!

Reference Works – Comprehensive, Powerful, Amazing!

The Library has subscribed to a wide variety of reference works including dictionaries, encyclopedia, handbooks, biographies and yearbooks, etc. They are good sources to factual and statistical information which provide facts, figures, statistics, definitions and dates. Statistical Information for China

Have you wondered where to find official survey and census data in China? The China Statistical Yearbooks Database (中國統計年鑒數據庫) is a great source with data from central, provincial and local levels. It is a digital repository of data published officially by the mainland Chinese government. The Library’s subscription offers full-text access of yearbooks from the earliest to the most recent issues.
