To cultivate students’ artistic sensibility and cultural literacy, the Student Affairs Office collaborated with the HSUHK Sinfonietta to present a “Mini Concert 2025” on 16 April 2025.
Under the baton of conductor Ms Jane Chan, the ensemble presented a captivating performance featuring a diverse repertoire, including iconic theme music from Studio Ghibli’s My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, and Howl’s Moving Castle, alongside selections from Disney animations and the Harry Potter series, complemented by classical chamber ensemble and orchestral pieces.

The Library of the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) hosted a donation ceremony on 22 April 2025 in recognition of the generous donation of over 1,200 prominent books by Professor and Mrs John Strickland. During the sharing session, Professor Strickland discussed his lifelong passion for travel and exploration, which began during his school days and continued throughout his career.

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) and the Asia-Pacific Higher Education Research Partnership (APHERP) hosted the Conference for Higher Education Research – Hong Kong 2025 (CHER 2025) from 29 to 30 April 2025, to foster in-depth reflection on the internationalisation of higher education and deliver concrete policy recommendations for establishing globally influential education hubs in Asia.

The President's Cup 2025 was held on 6, 8 and 13 May 2025. Nearly 190 staff members formed teams and took part in a variety of events, including Free Throw, Basketball, Badminton, and Table Tennis. This year introduced a new curling challenge, further boosting participation.

Co-organised by The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK), the Antiquities and Monuments Office of the Development Bureau, and Hong Kong Chu Hai College, the “Virtual Reality: The ‘Ten Courts of Hell’ of Tiger Balm Garden” exhibition opened to the public at Haw Par Mansion from 16 May 2025. Visitors were able to explore the historic “Ten Courts of Hell” diorama from the former Tiger Balm Garden by immersing themselves in virtual reality (VR) technology.

The “Hans Christian Andersen: Life and Afterlife” International Conference was held from 22 to 24 May 2025, jointly organised by the School of Humanities and Social Science at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong and the Hans Christian Andersen Centre, University of Southern Denmark. Nearly 30 renowned scholars from around the world attended to analyse Andersen’s works from multiple perspectives.

Themed around the ghost character “彁”, this pseudo-character, born out of mis-transcription, the exhibition took place from 29 May to 14 Jun 2025 at Cattle Depot Artist Village.

The Big Data Intelligence Centre at the School of Decision Sciences (SDSC) at HSUHK hosted its first “Robotic Doggie Time Tracking Challenge” on 29 May 2025, highlighting the cutting-edge research in robotic dog development.
Comprised of students from different programmes offered at SDSC, seven teams of three to five students each, worked together to navigate their robot dogs through a track, with the best three out of five attempts determining their cumulative time.

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) welcomed Professor Zhang Weiying, a 2025 Honorary Doctor at HSUHK and considered to be one of China’s most influential economists, to be a distinguished speaker at the Visionary Wisdom: Honorary Doctorate Lecture Series held on 2 June 2025. Professor Zhang delivered a compelling lecture titled “Indeterminacy, Imagination, and Entrepreneurship”.

Professor Cheung delivered an insightful lecture titled “Bridging Tradition and Progress: Leveraging Chinese Cultural Values in Equal Opportunities Initiatives”.
